TESLA – Good to Know

⚡️ TESLA (Model 3/Y/S/X)

1️⃣ Soft Reset (Infotainment/Screen Only)

When: If the touchscreen is frozen or glitchy.
How:

  • Sit in Park.
  • Hold both scroll wheels on the steering wheel until the screen goes black.
  • Release when the Tesla logo appears (~10–15 seconds).
  • The car stays drivable; just resets the central display.

2️⃣ Full Reset (System Reboot)

When: If multiple systems (audio, Bluetooth, UI) misbehave.
How:

  • Put the car in Park.
  • Press brake pedal while holding both scroll wheels for 10–15 seconds.
  • Wait for reboot.
(This resets more modules, including MCU and gateway controller.)

3️⃣ Power Off / Deep Reboot

When: For persistent bugs or after software updates acting weird.
How:

  • Tap: Controls → Safety → Power Off.
  • Sit still, do not touch pedals or doors for ~2 minutes.
  • Press the brake to wake the car again.

🧠 Tips Across All Brands:

  • Always park safely and avoid resets while driving unless it’s a non-critical infotainment reboot.
  • Software updates often fix underlying issues — check for pending updates before deep resets.
  • After any reset, systems like driver profiles, Bluetooth, or seat memory may need re-activation.

TESLA (Model 3 / Y / S / X) – wipers in service mode

🧰 Purpose: Raise wipers for cleaning or replacement.

How:

  1. Put the car in Park (P).
  2. Tap Controls → Service → Wiper Service Mode.
  3. Wipers move up the windshield and stop vertically.
  4. Turn off service mode the same way (tap again) when done.

Notes:

  • Never lift wipers manually without enabling service mode — they rest under the hood edge and can scrape paint.
