New variant of Polestar 4 (launch end-2026)
Polestar says it will launch a new Polestar 4 variant “later this year” with deliveries expected in Q4 2026, positioned as more versatile.
What you can tell from the spy photos (quick take)
- A longer, straighter roofline and a more wagon-like rear than today’s Polestar 4 coupé-SUV.
- A proper rear window (which Polestar / press have also said the new variant will get, unlike the current Polestar 4).
- The rear appears to keep a full-width light bar and a more practical tailgate / load-opening shape.

Manufacturing & tech direction (Volvo Cars statement):
- Volvo Cars says Polestar 7 is planned to be developed/produced with Volvo at the Kosice, Slovakia plant and will share a technology base with forthcoming Volvo models (including EX60), mentioning mega casting, cell-to-body, next-gen battery density/performance, and Volvo’s next-gen in-house e-motors, plus the shared software “Superset” direction and OTA improvements.
