1️⃣ Infotainment Reset (Quick Reboot)
When: If navigation, CarPlay, or screen freezes.
How:
- Press and hold the volume knob (for ~10–15 seconds).
- The infotainment screen restarts.
2️⃣ Instrument Cluster Reboot
When: Cluster screen lags or black.
How:
- Turn ignition off completely.
- Open driver’s door to shut down systems fully.
- Wait ~1–2 minutes, then restart the car.
- You can also take a pen and press the buttom next to the Volume knob – to reset
3️⃣ Full System Reset
When: Deep glitches or communication errors.
How:
- Turn off ignition → exit the car.
- Lock doors → wait 5+ minutes (let CAN bus and ECUs go to sleep).
- Then unlock and start normally.
(There’s no “factory reset” button like Tesla — but you can use Settings → General → Reset for infotainment personalization. )
🧠 Tips Across All Brands:
- Always park safely and avoid resets while driving unless it’s a non-critical infotainment reboot.
- Software updates often fix underlying issues — check for pending updates before deep resets.
- After any reset, systems like driver profiles, Bluetooth, or seat memory may need re-activation.
⚡ KIA EV6 (and Hyundai Ioniq 5/6) – wipers in servicemode
🧰 Purpose: Lift wipers clear of the hood for blade changes.
✅ How:
- Car off, ignition off (power button off).
- Within 20 seconds, push the wiper stalk upward (single wipe position) and hold for ~2 seconds.
- Wipers will move to the service position mid-windshield.
- After replacement:
- Turn ignition on, then flick the stalk once to return them to normal position.
Notes:
- Works only if ignition is off — if on, this gesture just wipes normally.
