S3XY Dash for Tesla Model 3/Y
(Aftermarket driver display)
🔍 What is S3XY Dash?
- S3XY Dash is an additional digital instrument cluster for Tesla Model 3 and Model Y.
- It is not made by Tesla, but by the third-party company Enhance Auto.
- It provides a secondary display with:
- Real-time CAN-bus data (battery temp, regen status, charging details)
- Custom layouts and widgets
- Apple CarPlay & Android Auto support
- Automatic layout switching based on driving mode, charging, Autopilot etc.
📍 Installation & Placement
- Around 9.6-inch display.
- Can be mounted:
- Behind the windshield (higher, HUD-style feel)
- Behind the steering wheel (classic instrument cluster position)
- Powered via USB-C and designed to install with minimal disassembly.
- Does not replace the Tesla center screen.
✅ Advantages
- A real instrument cluster, so you don’t have to look sideways at the center screen.
- Highly customizable (themes, widgets, layouts).
- Extra data Tesla doesn’t show by default, such as:
- Battery temperature
- Regen power limits
- Live charging stats
- Adds CarPlay / Android Auto support.
- Looks premium and blends well with the interior.
⚠️ Drawbacks
Some feedback from Tesla owners (especially on Reddit):
- Windshield reflections, especially when installed high: “The window-mounted position gives bad reflections at night.”
- Not an official Tesla product → may affect warranty depending on region.
- The device cannot access Tesla’s cameras or native map system: “Tesla camera and map data isn’t available through the CAN bus.”
- Price is relatively high compared to simpler gauge clusters.
- Modifies Tesla’s minimalist interior look.
