Model Year 2020 – First deliveries
- First Model Y deliveries: Long Range AWD and Performance.
- Heat pump introduced.
- Wireless phone charging, rear USB-C ports.
- Acceleration Boost available for LR.
- Radar + HW3 cameras.
Model Year 2021 – Comfort & winter upgrades
- Standard Range (RWD) introduced in some markets.
- 7-seat option made available.
- Heated steering wheel.
- Laminated double-pane front windows.
- HEPA filter (“Bioweapon Defense Mode”).
- Start of the shift to Tesla Vision (removal of radar).
Model Year 2022 – 4680 battery pack and refinements
- Giga Texas starts production with:
- 4680 cells
- Structural battery pack
- Giga Berlin starts production.
- Parcel shelf added.
- Small suspension refinements.
- Ultrasonic parking sensors begin to be removed late 2022.
Model Year 2023 – Comfort improvements & new colors
- New Berlin colors: Quicksilver, Midnight Cherry Red.
- Softer suspension, improved seats.
- BYD LFP battery on some RWD units.
- More ambient lighting on some markets.
- First cars with Autopilot Hardware 4 (transitional year).
Model Year 2024 – HW4 widespread, lineup changes

- LR RWD reintroduced in some markets.

Model Year 2025 – Major “Juniper” facelift
Exterior:
- New front with slimmer LED headlights + LED light bar.
- New rear with full-width taillight bar.
- Improved aerodynamics (lower consumption).
- New wheels and colors (e.g., Marine Blue).
Interior:
- New 15.4” center display.
- New 8” rear passenger display.
- Ventilated front seats.

- Improved cabin materials and sound insulation.
Tech:
- Better Wi-Fi and UWB for mobile key.
- V2L capability on Performance.
